Philippines : Dengue death toll in Bohol reaches 7

 

TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL August 3 : Dengue has claimed the lives of seven persons in Bohol as of last week, according to the local health department, but authorities are yet to declare a possible province-wide dengue outbreak.

One death has been recorded in each of the towns of Tubigon, Calape, Loay, Baclayon, Ubay, San Miguel, and Garcia-Hernandez.

DOH, however, still has to update the statistics in the city this week which reportedly include another incident of death.

DOH also disclosed that almost all towns in Bohol recorded dengue cases.

As of last week, the Provincial Health Office already recorded a total of 793 dengue cases since January.

The 793 cases, however, included 190 which are still at symptoms level while 597 are confirmed dengue cases.

Ranking next to this capital city which has a total of 169 case is the town of Garcia-Hernandez which monitored 47 cases and one death.
